This Privacy Policy explains how Edward Nickless ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Fameally mobile application (the "App") and related services.
1. Who we are
Fameally is a meal planning and shopping list app. The data controller for personal data processed through the App is Edward Nickless. If you have privacy questions or want to exercise your rights, contact us at support@fameally.com.
2. Information we collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: such as your name, email address, authentication identifiers, sign-in provider details, and profile information when you create or use an account.
- User content: such as meals, methods/recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, library items, family workspace information, settings, and other content you create or manage in the App.
- Subscription and purchase information: such as subscription status, product identifiers, entitlement status, store, renewal or expiry dates, and transaction-related metadata received from Apple, Google, and RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your full card details.
- Device, diagnostics, and technical information: such as app version, device model, operating system, error logs, crash diagnostics, and limited performance telemetry used to monitor reliability and fix issues.
- Communications and support information: such as the contents of support requests and transactional email activity, including verification emails, password reset requests, family invite emails, and subscription confirmation emails.
- Locally stored app data: to support app functionality and performance, Fameally stores certain content and settings locally on your device, such as saved lists, planning data, preferences, and cached workspace or entitlement state.
3. How we collect information
- Directly from you when you create an account, sign in, add content, manage a subscription, join a family workspace, or contact support.
- Automatically through the App and connected services when the App authenticates you, syncs your data, handles purchases, sends transactional emails, or records diagnostics needed to keep the App working properly.
- From third-party platforms and providers such as Apple, Google, Firebase, RevenueCat, Sentry, and Resend when they help us operate the App and related services.
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, maintain, and improve Fameally;
- authenticate users and keep accounts secure;
- sync your data across devices and shared family workspaces;
- process and manage subscriptions, purchases, and entitlements;
- send transactional emails such as verification, password reset, family invite, and subscription confirmation emails;
- respond to support requests and troubleshoot issues;
- monitor reliability, diagnose errors, and prevent abuse; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
5. Legal bases for processing (UK GDPR / GDPR where applicable)
Where applicable, we process personal data on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Contract: to provide the App and its features to you.
- Legitimate interests: to secure, improve, support, and operate the App responsibly.
- Consent: where consent is required under applicable law.
- Legal obligation: where we need to comply with applicable law.
6. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use your personal data for third-party advertising. We may share limited information where necessary with service providers that help us operate the App, subject to appropriate contractual and security protections. These providers include:
- Firebase / Google Cloud for authentication, cloud database, callable backend functions, and related app infrastructure.
- Google Sign-In if you choose to sign in using your Google account.
- RevenueCat for subscription management and entitlement handling.
- Apple App Store and Google Play for in-app purchases, subscription processing, billing, and store receipts.
- Sentry for error monitoring and performance diagnostics.
- Resend for transactional emails sent through our backend, such as verification, password reset, family invite, and subscription confirmation emails.
If you create or join a family workspace, content that is intended to be shared within that workspace may be visible to other members of the same family workspace.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our rights, or to protect users, the public, and the integrity of the App.
7. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the App, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymise personal data we are no longer required or permitted to retain. We may keep limited information where necessary for security, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, dispute resolution, or regulatory compliance. Data stored locally on your device may remain there until you clear app storage or uninstall the App.
8. Account deletion
If you have a Fameally account, you can initiate account deletion from inside the App on the Account screen or through the public account deletion page at https://fameally.com/account-deletion.html . If you cannot access the App, you can also email support@fameally.com from the email address linked to your account.
Deleting your account removes your ability to access account-based features. Associated deletion of personal data may take additional processing time where verification or manual handling is required. We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days where reasonably possible, subject to legal or operational retention needs. If you have an active subscription, you may also need to cancel it separately through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
9. International data transfers
Your information may be processed in countries outside your own. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children's privacy
Fameally is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at support@fameally.com so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or port your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise your rights, contact us at support@fameally.com.
13. Third-party services
The App relies on third-party services whose privacy practices are governed by their own policies. You should review the privacy information published by those services where relevant, including Firebase, Google, RevenueCat, Sentry, Apple, and Google Play.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes may also be communicated in-app where appropriate.
